Brain Cancer

There are two main types of brain cancer. Primary brain cancer starts in the brain. Metastatic brain cancer starts in another part of the body and moves to the brain. Brain tumors can be benign, no cancer cells or malignant, rapidly growing cancer cells.
Brain tumors can cause many symptoms. Some of the most common are:
  • Headaches, usually worse in the morning
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Changes in the ability to speak, hear or see
  • Problems with balance or walking
  • Problems with thinking or memory
  • Twitching or muscle spasms
  • Numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
No exact cause of brain tumors. In rare cases, doctors may explain why some people develop a brain tumor and not others.
